This pertains to White Rock RCMP File# 2012-654 The bike was stolen Feb 10, 2012 around 5:30am. As the copy of the receipt shows, the bike, along with its equipment (fenders, back rack, water bottle cage) cost me $477.09 in June 2010. The zip files show that the person cased my carport while we were away on vacation in January. They walked up on Jan 30 and did not flinch or even look when the motion sensing light to their left turned on. This implies they were not affraid of lights turning on so I assume they watched our house for a few days before Jan 30, and knew that nobody was home. The zip files contain a capture as well as an analysis jpg for each frame. The capture is the image from the camera while the analysis image shows the areas in the image that alerted the software to motion highlighted in red. They're duplicates otherwise. The other images in the folder show pictures of the undisturbed area where the bike was locked up, and the cleanly cut cable. It appears in the video of the theft that the thief is carrying something heavy under his sweatshirt - likely cable cutters. Note that all zipped images and videos are captured via an infrared light. So the clothing that looks light is actually probably black or dark blue. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Added Feb 28,2012 I have added another zip file showing a thief - possibly the same person (possible even on my bike) coming into the carpool, looking around, and leaving. It appears from his shadow that he may have taken something and put it into his pocket before bending over and picking up his bike on the right side near the end. We cannot confirm if anything was taken as we did not have an inventory of our child's stroller - which was located approximately where he spent most of his time judging by the shadow location. Note that the light in the carport is located about 1/3 of the way back into the carport, and since we can always see his shadow it means he did not search the back 1/3 of the carport where most of the property is located.
